Born and
raised in Wilmington, Delaware. Began playing the trumpet in the seventh grade. Earned a seat in the band after one month
of practicing. Earned a music scholarship to Delaware State College and graduated with a B. S. Degree in Music Education.
Received a Masters Degree in Education Administration from Wilmington College. Worked as a teacher in the Christina School
District, Brandywine School District, and at Christina Cultural Arts Center. Recently retired as a school administrator from
the Brandywine School District in Delaware.
Began serious jazz studies
under the tutelage of the late Robert “Boysie” Lowery, world-renowned jazz teacher of many jazz greats including
trumpet great Clifford Brown. Early influences were Louis Armstrong, Clifford Brown, Hugh Masekela, and Freddie Hubbard. Has
performed with The Soul Statics, The Christina Electric Light Orchestra, The Boysie Lowery Big Band, Orchestra Insaciable,
The Mill Creek Jazz Orchestra, The Clef Club Big Band, The Don Wilson Big Band, The Jackie Browne Quartet, Lucky Thompson’s
DNA, The East Coast Collective Groove Band, Dr. Guy's Musiqology, Clifford Jordan, James Moody, Jimmy Heath, Bennie Golson,
Toshiko, Akiyoshi, Clark Terry, Freddie Hubbard, Johnny Coles, The Temptations, The Four Tops, and The Dells. Performs regularly
in the Philadelphia area.
